Easy divorce
“I don’t want to fight; I just want to be fair. This should be easy.”
If I had a nickle….
Divorces in California are designed so that an individual can go through the process without a lawyer. Sounds easy enough, doesn’t it?
I have done all kinds of divorces, addressed all kinds of issues, and dealt with all kinds of money (yes, bitcoin too). I have made under $4,000 for an estate worth $12 million and have billed thousands of dollars for cases that are worth much less. I act as a mediator as well and the beauty of mediations are that regardless of the value of the estate, in general, I have people that can come together on some level of reasonableness to finalize their divorce. It’s never “easy” but what makes divorce “easier” are the clients and their willingness to work with me with each other. Divorces become more difficult when there is a personality issue, huge lack of trust, and other really difficult issues. Sometimes lawyers opposing each other have personality conflicts that can cause an increase in fees. More often my experience is that lawyers come together to resolve issues; this is a statistic I learned earlier in my practice that I have experienced over the years.
My point is that an easy divorce depends on you, your spouse, and how you go outside yourself to resolve a problem for the greater good of your family. I’m sure you have a lot of talents but like me, you can’t be great in everything. I have experience in bridging that gap to help make the divorce process easier for you. Over the years, I have gone to battle and have resolved heavy issues for clients. I value what I have learned but am also proud of assisting clients through the system with creative approaches to achieve that ‘easy divorce.’
